Happy Merdeka Day!!!
I know this is a little late since it’s already night time.... However, it still is 31th August. So I guess it’s better late than never.
Isn’t it great that Malaysia has gain independence for 53 years already? It might not be long in terms of worldwide country age?? but then if you’re to count it in human age terms then I would say that she’s in the late middle age. Okay, okay, sorry for membebel-ing....
Anyway, in case you didn’t realise, I just came back from Hong Kong last week....
And to tell you the truth, there’s no place better that our good ol’ country... I know it sounds cliché’. And someone my age should be rambling about how good other places are.... And trust me, I do it... ever so often, mind you.
In a way we’re always comparing our country with others and complaining that the green pastures on the other side is always better and greener and .... .... ( insert ur own self). We humans are always like this, we fail to appreciate things until it’s gone and lost.
Oh yeah, I do realise that this post sounds familiar as many have written about the same thing.... but then I ensure you that it’s all my thoughts... I dare say It sounds repetitive because we’re all living in the same place with the same surroundings and stuff like that (me is referring to fellow M’sians).
So now, I present to you....
5 things I like about Malaysia.
1. The spaces we have - Imagine living in a house which is as big as my room + Ken’s room. Now, imagine that this house cost as much as 4x the price of my house. That, is what I lived in in Hong Kong... heck, it’s so freaking small that I couldn’t even swing my hands in circle.... (no offense, me likie Hk as well)
2. The pace here is way slower - Now, don’t start criticizing that it’s due to lazyness. You try to work and work and work for hours and hours till you’re down with depression then you talk to me....
3. Malaysian’s are generally friendly – Tell me it’s not true.... Okay, maybe this doesn’t apply on the roads... but other than that, we are friendly what!! I mean there’s always some sour grapes in our midst, but MOST of us would open the door for someone in need or tell you the time when asked or...............
4. Shopping – I know there are better places like Milan or Paris or Tokyo or New York.... but then you cannot deny that we do have some awesome shopping malls here in KL.... but then why don’t we have H&M (or maybe we do, I just didn’t notice). And we have places like Sg Wang.... how on earth can people sell dresses for RM25? Eat what? Grass ar?
5. Aku anak Malaysia. Period.
Neh, got alot more... but I very the lazy to update summore lar...
